What's new in PickHue
Version 3.0 · August 2026
PickHue now wears your colors. Every pick retints the entire UI — panel, toasts, menus, even the eyedropper hint — using a perceptually tuned OKLCH engine that keeps every hue vibrant and legible in light and dark themes.
Dynamic accent & tinted chrome
The whole extension takes on the color you picked, and surfaces carry a whisper of it too. Gray picks fall back to PickHue’s coral default, so the UI never goes muddy.
Keyboard eyedropper
Press Alt+Shift+P to start picking on any page — remappable, and shown live in Extension Settings. Arrow keys nudge the sample point pixel by pixel (Shift jumps 10px), and Enter picks.
Smarter loupe
The magnifier’s ring previews the color under the crosshair before you commit, and the zoom badge now sits right on the glass.
One-tap save flow
The compact copy toast grows a + action. Choose a palette and it morphs into a ✓ with “Added to palette”. Hovering holds the toast open.
Palette editor, overhauled
Color count and Export moved to the top, a Duplicate action, drag reorder with a precise insertion indicator, full keyboard reorder, and live validation on the add field.
Shades & tints
Any palette color expands into a 10-step Tailwind-scale ramp, 50 through 900. Copy a step or add it to the palette in one click.
Tailwind export
Copy any palette as a ready-to-paste
tailwind.config.js snippet — alongside the
existing hex list, CSS variables, Adobe ASE, and JSON backup.
Quality of life
Reduced-motion support, refined toasts and menus, and elegant filled-ellipsis actions throughout.
